About Betsy
I worked as a teacher and a researcher at a university when I first discovered Vedic Meditation. I loved my job but I was often exhausted and filled with anxiety. I felt trapped in repeating thought patterns of fear and regret. I tried to manage my stress. I struggled with understanding: ‘why me’, ‘why this’ and ‘why that’. I was looking for answers.
When I learned Vedic Meditation, things began to change as deep-seated stresses began to unwind. I reacted less and took action more. I was calmer and more poised. It took more to rattle me. My creativity increased. I surprised myself by meeting difficult interpersonal interactions with grace. I felt like my life had more time in it: more time to laugh and play.
As I continued to practice I learned. Vedic meditation allows us to tap into our natural ability to reestablish equilibrium, find our baseline. It increases resilience and adaptability. Although I faced the same daily demands as before, the outcomes were now different, because I was different. I was operating from a different baseline and this allowed me to find more happiness, joy and stability in my life.
I continued to feel the benefits of the practice and eventually I joined my teacher Thom Knoles at his highly selective residential training program for teachers where I became a Vedic Meditation teacher. I am so happy to have the chance to introduce others to a technique that has improved my life and outlook and brought me so much peace.
I look forward to meeting you.
